A combination of our in-house epoxy coating system (standard) or insulated sleeving (optional) is used to insulate the current carrying surfaces, bus supports are available in glastic, porcelain, and cycloaliphatic materials, and our optional NEMA 3R design includes strip heaters with weathertight removable cover plates. Unit Substations

Myers Power Products Unit Substations are available in 480 V — 38 kV voltage ratings and custom designed to meet your specifications. These close-coupled assemblies are comprised of enclosed primary medium voltage equipment, a three-phase power transformer (up to 5 MVA), and enclosed secondary medium voltage or low voltage equipment. We offer a large number of transformer options including liquid filled, dry type, high fire point oil or silicon, vacuum pressure impregnated coil, or cast coil. AC Circuit Breakers

Myers Power Products offers medium voltage AC Circuit Breakers for fixed mount or draw out applications. These breakers are based upon mature, field-proven technology and incorporate the latest features for speed, ease of use, and reliability. Standard features include a 5 cycle closing speed, compact 42' enclosure width, self-aligning/self-coupling secondary disconnect for easy connections of relay circuits to the trip coil, and heavy-duty utility grade contacts that eliminates the need for manual connection of a plug and socket or umbilical cord. Optional features include a three cycle trip speed, remote tripping, and closed door racking.

FVR Outdoor Substation Circuit Breakers

Myers Power Products FVR outdoor vacuum air insulated substation circuit breakers combine proven medium voltage circuit breaker technology with industry-leading quality. Engineered and manufactured in our ISO-certified US manufacturing facility, the FVR breaker meets or exceeds relevant IEEE/ANSI standards for outdoor circuit breakers and features arc-resistant construction on the 1200 - 2000A models. Metal Enclosed Switchgear

Our ArcRes Switchgear utilizes specially designed ducting to safely exhaust any arc flash incidents out of the area and away from your personnel and equipment. ArcRes Low Voltage Switchgear is designed with the latest power circuit breaker and solid state trip unit technology with continuous current capacity up to 5,000 A, interrupting rating of 100 kAIC and voltage ratings up to 600V.

Motor Control Centers

Myers Power Products Low Voltage Motor Control Centers (LV MCCs) provide custom solutions that incorporate state-of-art motor control technology with a modular open architecture that combines best in class control options available from multiple vendors. Our designs feature horizontal bus ratings up to 2500 A and interrupt ratings up to 100 kA, with vertical bus ratings up to 600A. Myers LV MCCs are UL 845-compliant and are manufactured to multiple industry standards, including NEMA ICS-18, NFPA 70, and NEC standards for motor control center construction. Our LV MCCs are available in nearly all NEMA ratings including NEMA Class 1 Division 2 and NEMA Class 2 to form a complete control system that includes necessary electrical interlocking and wiring between units. Low Voltage Switchboards

Myers’ Distribution Switchboards offer flexibility to accommodate both circuit breakers and fusible switches in the same compartment. Our group mounted construction offers voltage ratings up to 600 V and up to a 4000A main bus with many possible combinations of breaker sizes and manufacturers and mounting styles that may be needed to protect and service large loads from a limited space. Myers also provides an integrated switchboards that combines the main breaker, utility metering, transformer and distribution feeder sections into one enclosure delivering valuable savings in both floor space and installation labor. Myers’ custom designed Low Voltage Switchboards are UL 891 compliant and can be manufactured as a free-standing structure or wall-mounted unit to meet nearly any dimensional, paint, or enclosure requirements.

Low Voltage Panelboards

Myers’ Commercial Panelboards are available in voltages up to 600 V and the main bus delivers up to 1600 A. Our flexible designs are UL 67 compliant, with our own file that allows for installation of multiple manufacturer’s circuit breakers. Myers’ Distribution Panelboards can accommodate circuit breakers and/or fusible switches in the same common interior. The main bus for these panels is rated up to 1600A, 600V and 200 kA symmetrical short circuit maximum. The branch breakers or switches are UL compliant up to 1200A. Larger frame breakers can be installed as branch devices, resulting in a smaller and lighter solution when space is at a premium. Myers’ flexible panelboard design provide options for multiple NEMA enclosure types, paint, dimensions, and configuration. No matter what your need, Myers had the solution for you.

Myers Power Products Commercial offers a full line of Meter Panels for service entrance sections in single and multi-tenant manufacturing facilities, retail centers, large residential sites, and many other facilities. Our design conforms to all the latest EUSERC requirements and we maintain our own UL 414 file. Meter Panels are available in ratings up to 600 V, 5000 A main bus, and 200 kA bracing. Available in 3, 6, and 10 meter stack standard designs or custom designs, the meter panels can incorporate either bar or window-type current transformers. DC Switchgear & Circuit Breakers

Third Rail Inverters

Myers Power Products Third Rail Inverters draw power from the third rail power supply and convert it to constant, regulated, utility-grade AC voltage. Built-in power quality protection restarts the unit when transient voltage, spikes, or sags are encountered. Available voltages range from 120 VAC — 480 VAC, with 500 W — 10 kW capacities. The third rail inverter features a ruggedized design with rack mount, wall mount, and cabinet options.

The Myers Power Products Traffic UPS System is a complete solution for backup power for traffic signal equipment. It is comprised of a battery back-up system, power transfer switch, and maintenance-free batteries housed in an outdoor-rated enclosure. The Traffic UPS ensures that the traffic signal cabinet is powered continuously by providing backup power and a means of transferring the signals’ electrical load to the backup system if utility power is lost. It allows connection for the normal utility power using standard terminal blocks or generator power via a standard 30 A or 50 A generator receptacle. The optional bypass switch redirects utility power to the load and allows the battery backup system to be removed for service on a temporary or permanent basis without disrupting the operation of the traffic signal. Myers supports our products with testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance services, making us the only company you will need for the life of your systems.

IEEE LOAD TESTING

Myers field technicians are available to perform load testing on newly installed and in-service equipment. Each test is designed specifically for your equipment, in accordance with IEEE and other industry standards, and verifies that the equipment performs as required with normal and peak loads.

START UP, ACCEPTANCE TESTING & COMMISSIONING

Myers start-up, acceptance testing, and commissioning services provide the expertise to complete your project safely and on schedule. Performed according to documented, repeatable procedures derived from industry best practices, these services reduce the likelihood of equipment failures and support the long-term reliability of an electrical system.

More than half of early equipment failures can be traced to design, installation, or start-up deficiencies. When improper start-up and testing procedures are applied, the results can be disastrous. Your electrical system could experience a catastrophic failure due to relatively small installation and testing errors. Many unnecessary outages are due to improper testing procedures that fail to effectively verify performance or are unable to identify inaccurate coordination and calibration of protective devices, wiring errors, design errors, and other problems. Solutions Showcase: Mobile Traction Power Substation

A mobile substation provides utility power to a location that requires electrical service in an emergency or on a temporary basis, such as following storm damage to existing electrical infrastructure, when maintenance is being performed on a permanent substation, when heavy construction machinery requires grid power, or in the event of a failure of an existing traction power substation.

Each mobile substation is a plug and play solution, designed to arrive on site, ready for connection to the distribution system and able to be fully operational in just a few hours.

The Myers Power Products Mobile Utility Power Substation is a complete solution mounted on a tractor trailer. A standard assembly includes medium voltage AC switchgear (incorporating Myers HVF circuit breakers), a rectifier-transformers unit, DC switchgear (incorporating Myers HSN and FBK circuit breakers), bus duct, SCADA, metering, controls, and customer-specific ancillary equipment. Mobile Traction Power Substation

Solutions Showcase: Largest PreFabricated Traction Power Substation in the USA

Myers Power Products manufactured the largest prefabricated traction power substation in the United States for the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). The 45’ x 252’ substation will transform AC power from the electrical utility into DC power for LIRR trains operating on the East Side Access line extension.

Weighing in at nearly 50 tons, the substation provides secure, weather-proof construction that houses three individual 3MW traction power lineups each with a dedicated 26.4kV incoming utility service. The traction power substations will power the LIRR Main Line and Sunnyside Yard tracks.

Myers Power Products produced the East Side Acess Modular Substation in true turnkey fashion, providing engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, integration, and testing under a single contract executed in a single, ISO-certified factory. The substation features AC & DC switchgear (incorporating Myers HVF and HSN circuit breakers), rectifiers, transformers, tie breakers, and tie buses, SCADA, metering, control, HVAC, fire alarm, security, and lighting systems.
