Myers offers full lifecycle services that enable you to get the most out of your equipment. From installation and startup to life extension services, our electrical systems experts are available to ensure proper placement and connection, sequence of operations, regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and other topics related to maximizing safety, uptime, and performance. Our services include: INSTALLATION SUPERVISIONProper installation is critical to safety, reliability, proper operation and longevity. Myers offers technical direction and oversight to ensure proper installation of your new electrical equipment. Our technical experts can advise on many typical installation items, including installation preparation, rigging, any needed reassembly, equipment placement, cabling, and integration with existing equipment. Eliminate costly and time consuming re-work with professional guidance. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCEAvoid costly repairs and disruptive system outages with an effective preventive maintenance program. Myers preventive maintenance programs are designed specifically for your equipment, by the technical experts who engineered and manufactured it. Designed to work with your specific budgetary and operational needs, these programs encompass inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and performance verification to ensure that your equipment is in good repair, functions properly, and that all applicable regulatory and reliability requirements are met. Our skilled technicians can supervise your crew, or we can provide the required testing and maintenance services. Effective preventive maintenance programs pay for themselves through reductions in operational costs and extended equipment life. IN-HOUSE REPAIR, REBUILD & REFURBISHExtend the life of your electrical equipment with Myers’ full range of repair, refurbishment, and rebuilding services. Depending upon your requirements, these services can range from merely repairing equipment that was not practical to repair in the field, to a complete rebuild that returns the equipment to as-new condition, enhancing reliability and safety. Repair, Rebuild, and Refurbishment services are a cost-saving alternative to replacement of individual equipment. ON-SITE TROUBLESHOOTING & REPAIRMyers electrical experts are ready to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions and outages. Armed with decades of power systems design and troubleshooting experience as well as comprehensive knowledge of the equipment components, subsystems, and connections, our field technicians are your best resource for quickly restoring peak performance. TRAININGEquip your personnel with the knowledge they need to safely operate and keep your equipment up and running with Myers training programs. Each course is customized to the unique design of your equipment and encompasses classroom instruction and hands-on training. IEEE LOAD TESTINGMyers field technicians are available to perform load testing on newly installed and in-service equipment. Each test is designed specifically for your equipment, in accordance with IEEE and other industry standards, and verifies that the equipment performs as required with normal and peak loads. START UP, ACCEPTANCE TESTING & COMMISSIONINGMyers start-up, acceptance testing, and commissioning services provide the expertise to complete your project safely and on schedule. Performed according to documented, repeatable procedures derived from industry best practices, these services reduce the likelihood of equipment failures and support the long-term reliability of an electrical system. More than half of early equipment failures can be traced to design, installation, or start-up deficiencies. When improper start-up and testing procedures are applied, the results can be disastrous. Your electrical system could experience a catastrophic failure due to relatively small installation and testing errors. Many unnecessary outages are due to improper testing procedures that fail to effectively verify performance or are unable to identify inaccurate coordination and calibration of protective devices, wiring errors, design errors, and other problems. In many cases, these failures don’t occur until months after the equipment has gone into operation and the warranties have expired. The inspection and testing performed on an electrical power system and its components before the initial energization is key to the system and/or components life-cycle reliability. Proper commissioning and start-up testing also provides valuable baseline or benchmark information that can be used to shape the equipment’s future maintenance program. Myers start-up, acceptance testing, and commissioning services verify that the equipment has been properly installed and its function complies with the purchase specifications and design. Doing so will help ensure that your newly installed equipment operates efficiently as an integrated system. Properly executed, commissioning can pay dividends in the form of decreased failures, reduced operation and maintenance costs, and lower utility bills. RETROFITS & RETROFILSModernize your electrical equipment with Myers Retrofit & Retrofil Services. Aging electrical systems can become problematic with little to no warning, and finding replacement parts for that equipment can be time consuming and expensive. Our engineered retrofit and retrofil solutions allow you the flexibility to replace the most critical components in your electrical systems, while continuing to use existing switchgear, cables, and/or bus ducts that is still in good condition.

Myers Power Products manufactured the largest prefabricated traction power substation in the United States for the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). The 45’ x 252’ substation will transform AC power from the electrical utility into DC power for LIRR trains operating on the East Side Access line extension. Weighing in at nearly 50 tons, the substation provides secure, weather-proof construction that houses three individual 3MW traction power lineups each with a dedicated 26.4kV incoming utility service. The traction power substations will power the LIRR Main Line and Sunnyside Yard tracks. |
